Welcome to Day 5 of your 21-Day Challenge

Lesson 5:  Accentuate the Positive

Accentuate the Positive

Now that you are more aware of problematic thought patterns or negative thoughts, you can abort them by accentuating the positive.  Your goal right now is to make your positive experiences and your hopes and desired outcomes become more prominent in your mind.  Then eventually, those thoughts will become more dominate within your sub-conscious. This is where a new habit in your thought pattern is actually formed.

In this lesson you will refer back to the words that you wrote down in Awareness Assignment and replace each with positive words, phrases or scenarios. It’s time to Abort the negative thoughts that do not align with where you desire to go.

We will do this with a method that I call “identify and replace.”

Assignment: Continuation from the assignment in Lesson 3: Awareness (with Steps 1 & 2). This is Step 3.

In lesson 3 you were instructed to “identify,” write down your fears, your worries, your insecurities, your losses and regrets, and things that stress you out regularly.  Now, here’s your next step.

On a separate sheet or page if you are typing to complete this step.

For every negative thought that you wrote down on Day 3, I want you to write at least one positive thought to “replace” it.

  • If you fear failure, write one instance when failure helped you to learn a lesson. Turn that negative experience into a positive lesson learned.
  • If you are worried about something turning out as desired, write down how you can influence a better outcome
  • If you regret a missed opportunity, write what you can do to prepare for a new opportunity.

And so forth.  Continue this “Identify and Replace” method until you have exhausted your list.

You are on your way to a more positive journey with happy endings.  Enjoy!
